A mask you want to wear celebrating art

Limited Edition and numbered reproduction artwork made by the artist with mental health, Bill Market, discover his inspiring story below.

10% of the proceeds are donated to local non-profit organization Les Impatients who support Artists with mental health through therapeutic art programs.

William (Bill) Market was born in Montreal into an anglophone family in 1949. He spent more than 40 years of his life in a mental institution, only to get out at the age of 65. He has been participating at the workshops of the association Les Impatients since 2002, where he devotes his time to a wide range of art, including beautiful musical creations. His inspiration centers mainly around two themes; depictions of weavings and landscapes.

The first comprises beautiful quilts on paper that Bill invented himself with the help of a mysterious equation, of which he is the sole proprietor. He starts these pieces by tracing a complex system of lines with a lead pencil, carefully counting each line, followed by him filling in the gaps with pastel colored markers or crayons to create psychedelic and geometric gems.

Market’s landscape art works in a similar fashion. With precise borders first drawn in lead, he then fills in once again shapes with different colours. The contrasting colours lend a geometric beauty to nature. For a man who spent a large part of his life in an institution, the lush landscapes are a reminder of a beautiful vacation in Western Canada, which represents freedom.

How the mask is made?

Designed by a scientist, microbiologist trained, the mask has a high efficacy protection thanks to the design to avoid hand contact on the head and the fabrics used.

Made with two layers, the first one is in 100% Mulberry Silk, the finest quality of silk available in the world. Very soft, the silk allow the better comfort for the breathe and to wear for a long period. Also very filtering to protect from the COVID19. The limited reproduction print on it is signed by the artist we collaborated with.

The second layer is made with 100% premium cotton, softer, finer and last longer than any other cotton.

Between the two layers, you can add a filter or chirurgical mask for a better protection.

How to take care of your mask?

We recommended to wash your mask after every use to avoid any contamination.

To keep the integrity of the premium fabrics used for the mask, the better solution is to wash the reusable mask by hand with tempered water and a little bit of soap. See below the video:

You can also use the washing machine and dryer on delicate program. However, we alert you to the undesirable effects that this could cause on fabrics such as silk.

We offer free shipping in Canada and USA on orders over 100$.
